Stella McCartney has been awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours List 2013 for her services to the fashion industry. The designer created Britain’s Team GB Olympic kits last year, as well as winning Designer Brand and Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards. As if the McCartney family wasn’t royal enough, it seems that Sir Paul’s daughter is starting a new legacy of her own. (Vogue UK)

We are only a few days away from the debut of HBO’s “Girls” season two. Creator and star of the show, Lena Dunham, explains the 12 things that she learned in 2012. “No one wants to hear opinions at premieres,” “hard work pays off,” and “don’t listen to your friends, who worry about you getting too thin,” are just some of the things she learned. Closing this week’s list of fashion highlights, Taylor Swift gave an outstanding performance at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2013 in Times Square, New York. Swift sang her two hit songs, “I Knew You Were Trouble” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” wearing black leather pants and a sparkly red jacket. Take a look:

Ralph Lauren and Stella McCartney will be the leading designers to look out for during the London 2012 Summer Olympics. McCartney is working with Adidas again to design Great Britain’s uniform, while Lauren is the official outfitter for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic team. (San Francisco Gate)

Peter Som has left his consulting role at Tommy Hilfiger. Both parties have confirmed the decision as being mutual. Som joined the brand in 2009 with the task of bringing more modern styles to Hilfiger’s women’s runway collection. (Marie Claire)

The Teen Choice Awards 2012 was filled with color and sparkly shoes as the big winners of the night, Twilight stars (Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner), as well as Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift, received most of the attention throughout the evening.
