International Fashion Trends For 2013

Reading Time: 3 minutes

The chances of meeting someone you already know may seem slim while traveling, but you’ll to be meeting a whole new bunch of people, even if it’s just the passengers on board with you on the plane.

What better way is there to make a good impression on people you’re just about to meet for the first time, even if it is in passing, than to look fashion forward even on the go?

Traveling doesn’t mean you’ve to sacrifice on fashion; looking and feeling good is your right wherever you go.

Here are the top international fashion trends for 2013

1.  Shoes to Choose

Traveling in style does not imply that you must wear something over the top. You can wear something that is comfortable yet in fashion so that you don’t get stressed out on that nine hour flight and even if you do, you do it in style.

There are plenty of flats that you can choose from. If you’re traveling to a city with a warm climate, you could go for gladiator sandals. However, if you’re just seeking comfort with style, you could wear a pair of ballet flats. These are mostly in trend with a very glitzy twist it won’t be a bad idea to wear a pair with loads of glitter on it.

2.  Designer Suitcases

Why restrict your fashion fever to your clothing alone when there are other items to your traveling needs that can be made more stylish as well? There are countless designers that make suitcase sets for you to buy and travel in style.

Whether it’s a small carry on to a large trunk, designer suitcases come in a variety of sizes for all your traveling needs. Furthermore, with a traveling suitcase set, there is little chance of the departure and arrival airport transportation services mixing up your luggage with someone else’s.

3.  Trust a Jacket

No matter where you’re headed, keeping a jacket is a wise decision. If it’s a warm city you’re headed for, keep a light summer jacket and for harsh weather conditions, maybe something furry (faux would be great).

Keeping a jacket not only makes you look chic and sophisticated, but also protects you from any unexpected weather at your chosen destination. Jackets also are easy to dress up or down in. Once on the plane, you can take it off and relax and then easily pull it on when leaving. Go for jackets that come in a denim design or you can also opt for the new floral ones.

4.  Passport Case

Another item not exclusive to your wardrobe; a passport case not only saves your passport from wear and tear, especially if you’re a frequent traveler, but also adds to your style statement.

Why keep that boring cover that most travelers carry when there’s a variety of passport cases to choose from? Among passport case trends, snake skins cases are most in fashion this year, so you can look into them and other trendy options before you set off on your next trip.

Traveling, especially on long hour flights, is quite tiring and most people prefer comfort over looking good. However, by adding a few small items, you can be at your ease without depriving yourself of the pleasure of looking good.

The main changes we noticed are:

  • The dial, initially silver, is now obtained by lowering with laser the material and then covered with a matte black lacquer finish, and with a circular satin finish on the reliefs. Apart from the V to 5 hours, the other reliefs are performed without inserts.
  • The shafts were blasted black PVD for the most beautiful effect.
  • The hands as “dauphines shape” were designed and received a treatment of Super luminova C1 to improve readability in low light.
  • The display disc Day-Night has been changed to a blue tone. Representations of the sun, moon and stars are in relief.
  • The strap is black alligator and now with a single blade folding clasp.

Baselworld 2013: Arceau, Le Temps Suspendu by Hermès.

Reading Time: 3 minutes

At Baselworld this year, the luxuryactivist team discovered real treasures. Like this amazing Timepiece by Hermès called Arceau, Le Temps Suspendu.

Arceau_LTS_43_Gold_havana

We met several Watchmakers. While some were trying to measure time, others to catch up time, a few like Hermès brought an invitation to enjoy time. Baselworld 2013 was definitely the year of performance. Many watch manufacturers presented 10Hz watches with a precision of almost perfection. But other Houses, wanted to tell you a story – A story of enjoying time second after second and make it last for ever… or almost.

Spinner_Dial Hermes

Hermès presented the evolution of its Arceau, Le Temps Suspendu. After winning a watchmaking prize, we got finally the story told to us by the Hermès team at the Hermès booth in Baselworld. And we must say that we got completely taken into a timeless journey… pure poetry.

Hermes_Booth_Baselworld

Hermes_Le_Temps_suspendu

The principle of this timepiece is as simple as magical. Sometimes you wish that time would stop and that precious moment would last for ever. When you meet that friend, your first kiss or even the birth of your first child. So with a watch at your wrist you are tempted to see the time going by and those rare and unique moments to fly away. Hermès wanted to create a special moment in time by “suspending it”. How? With a pusher at 10h, you can basically place the small and big hand into a “impossible position, so that you do not see the real time anymore. Like if you decided to suspended it! During that time, time continues and your watch keep measuring the time. Whenever you feel it or need it, you just press the same pusher again and the hands place themselves on the right time so you just get back to the real time. Brilliant as simple. They call this “to live outside time”.

Le Temps suspendu by Hermes

Inside this beautiful and elegant Timepiece, you can find a mechanical Swiss made movement with :

  • 42 hours power reserve
  • 21 + 24 jewels
  • 4Hz / 28’800 vibrations per hour
  • Hours, minutes, pusher serving to make time run or stand still
  • Anti-glare sapphire crystal
  • Water resistant at 3 atm.
  • Dials, cases and straps depending on the model. 38 and 43 mm.

Here some snapshots from the different variations.

38mm:

Le Temps suspendu by Hermes

43mm:

Le temps suspendu hermes 43mm

For more information, please visit the brand website: www.hermes.com

What did we learn? That every time we complain that we lack of time, actually we just do not know how to… suspend it!

Gal Yam Luxury Apartments in Israel

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Gal Yam (translation Sea Wave) luxury apartments in the elegant, sea-side suburb of Herzliya Pituach have been designed to offer the highest standards of accommodation to the most discerning of individuals.

galyam real estate Israel

The complex contains 35 stunning apartments of varying design and outlay contained within a wave like edifice located across the road from the magnificent Hasharon Beach. The clear, warm Mediterranean waters and the powdery, white sand are the perfect antidote to the pressures of everyday life. Stroll to the beach and indulge in a walk along the foreshore or a swim whilst soaking in the rays and letting the lure of the sea work its magic. The café on the sand is the perfect place to take in the scene and do some people watching.

The market for Israel luxury apartments has been incredibly strong due to a lack of supply, a dearth of available locations, as well as all the attributes that Israel has to offer, not the least of which being its long, hot summers and temperate winters.

Gal Yam apartments tick all the boxes for those seeking the better things in life. The central location of Herzliya Pituach and the prime site of the apartments themselves, proximity to world class beaches, closeness to excellent shopping facilities, a vast array of fine restaurants and cafes, and an ambience that attracts a cosmopolitan crowd from the four corners of the globe.

Even among luxury apartments, not all are created equal. Above and beyond the benefits that unsurpassed location can confer, it is the uncompromising attention to detail and ability to imbue residents with a feeling of privacy even though they are in a shared building that really sets Gal Yam apart.

Gal Yam apartments  – for those who demand the best.

Versace Eros… please don’t!

0
Reading Time: 4 minutes

Versace Profumi launches Versace Eros, a new fragrance for men. Although we are used to a certain baroque style from the italian brand, here the only thing we could say is: hopeless. It is typically the symbol of how bad the fragrance industry is right now.

Versace-Eros

In 1996, Versace launched The Dreamer, it made its entry into the fragrance industry with respect. In deed all the Versace universe was on it. Great name and great fragrance.

versace-the-dreamer

We all have in mind this specific juniper and tobacco note. Since then, many fragrances were launched  but a few remained. What Roberto Cavalli and Dolce Gabbana are successfully building in time, Versace is loosing it. As if since the death of the creator in 1997, it is a deadly fragrance path to no where.

Fragrance_Industry_crisis

With 500 new launches every year, the Fragrance industry is suffering as the more we do… the less it remains. Did you know that out of 10 fragrances launched in one year, only 1 or 2 are still on the market 5 years after? And as every single brand has the pressure of “Anniversarizing” the turnover, most of these brands need to launch at least one to 2 fragrances every year. How can we be creative all the time? Hard hard…

number_of_launches

Here with Versace we have the exact example of this. The advertising, the name, the flacon and the fragrance have few interest and by the time you read these lines this product will probably be forgotten.

The advertising

As you can see here, we meet a sort of Ancient Greek hero in a very mythological context. 3 versions of the advertising and the one with the fuchsia swimsuit is by far our preferred… fiasco. Which man in 2013 can recognize himself there? This is too caricatural. We know that the 80’s are always trendy but we have the good 80’s and the bad 80’s. Here… I let you guess which one are we talking about. Saint-Laurent did this with Kouros, Chanel did it with Antaeus, Nikos with Sculpture, etc… in advertising I would call it a great example of anachronism.

Versace_Eros_advertising

If it was a summer edition of Versace man… probably it would be easier to explain. It would even be logical and coherent with the fashion collection SS2013. Here some chosen looks:

Versace SS2013 men

Versace SS2013 men 2

The Flacon

Versace-Eros_bottle

The Fragrance flacon is at least what we could say well done. Nothing new in the universe of Versace but a nice glass work. We find again the Medusa head, symbol of the house and the geometric shapes frame, also part of the Brand elements. Working the glass in such details are not easy and we can say that here the job is well done. Here below the details on the medusa head:

Versace-Eros_bottle-detail

The Fragrance

The scent was created by Aurélien Guichard from Givaudan. There is a very mediterranean style on this fragrance as the citrus freshness wraps up the aromatic-green-woody structure. Less original than the concept itself as we would have expected from a fragrance called EROS to be more subversive. On the base notes we have a soft-warmth, probably from Amber and powdery notes that reveals a little sensuality. Nevertheless the fragrance is well balance despite the lack of originality. Roberto Cavalli and Dolce & Gabbana have definitely the monopole of italian sexiness.

The Name

EROS in Greek mythology, was the Greek god of love. His Roman counterpart was Cupid(“desire”). Some myths make him a primordial god (no parents), while in other myths, he is the son of Aphrodite. It is a strong name as it can be said and read in different many languages. It brings us again 15 years ago as we had all the Kouros, Antaeus, Minotaure fragrances. It is though coherent with Versace universe.

As usual you will find it with 2 versions of flacons-spray: 50ML and 100ML, available from now on in all official Versace distributors.

A brand with such a creative universe, background and history, that waited 5 years to launch such a product deserves a better future and we are not sure for how long this future will still be possible. Ms. Donatella Versace needs to make changes.

Digital Seabiscuit: Technological Tools to Give Your Bets the Edge

0
Reading Time: 4 minutes

Men and women have gambled since the beginning of modern civilization.  But this ancient sport relying on chance and skill has finally evolved into the modern era, with cutting edge technologies designed to make your gambling experience more fun, and more profitable.  If you’re thinking of heading to the casinos or the track, stack the odds in your favor by putting the whole of human achievement at your fingertips.  From online analysis to the latest horse race software, prepare yourself for a winning day at the track, the modern way.

horse race gambling software

Look the part.

It wasn’t that long ago that a day at the racetrack or the casino was considered a somewhat formal affair.  Men and women wore their best threads.  Here’s a great tip:  if you want to be a high roller, start by looking like one.  A little extra effort in the suit and tie department will pay off handsomely when you show up to gamble.  You’ll be taken seriously by the staff and other gamblers, and more importantly, you’ll feel like a winner.  Your time and money are valuable and a nice suit conveys the respect you deserve and want to exude.  May we recommend a classic Don Draper approach. Even if the odds don’t go your way, at least you’ll look great.

Winner_Games

Do your homework.

One of the great benefits of the internet is that anyone can basically get a PhD in the subjects that matter – where to eat, what movie to see, and how to gamble like a pro.

By getting online well before you hit the track, you can become an expert on stats and trends pretty much instantly.  You don’t have to hoard daily newspapers and squint at every tiny piece of data dating back for years and years to become a pro like your grandfather did.  Now, all of the information is at your fingertips, so take advantage of it.  Devote at least a few hours cruising the stats for the horses and the track you’ll be visiting, and you’ll arrive able to make informed decisions about where and how to place your money.

Practice makes perfect.

Before you spend – or lose – a dime, rehearse for your trip to the track with cutting edge betting games right on your phone.  No matter which smartphone you prefer, there are hundreds of fun, easy-to-master gambling style game apps available.  Play the computer, or compete online in friendly matches with betters from all over the world.  This is an excellent way to get a feel for the pace and pressure of what you’ll face when you hit the track.

Put some real cash on the line.

Ok, you’ve done the research, and played around with some fun simulations.  If you dare, now it’s time to pony up some real dough and see what it’s like to make gambling decisions with real stakes.  The latest trends in online gambling allow for legal and safe betting from the privacy of your own laptop or mobile device. There is no thrill like making a wager with real money.  And even if you aren’t ready to get in the car and drive to a casino or racetrack, you get can deal yourself in to real winnings.  A word of caution:  these games may feel as fun as child’s play, but keep in mind all those little “ca-chings” now equal real money, and play prudently until you get the hang of it.

Bring your computer to your day at the track.

Now that you’re feeling confident and ready to get a taste of real live horse racing excitement, don’t leave your technology behind when you head to the track.  Check out the latest horse race software to help you keep tabs on every bet you place, work the odds, and record your winnings on the fly.

laptop_horse_race

Keep your eyes on the prize.

The most important component of your gambling strategy is knowing when to put your technology aside. Zero in on the most crucial element in determining if you’re going home with the golden coins – intuition.  The time when a flickering keno screen hanging over the concession stand was the only distraction is long gone, now you’ve got a phone, laptop, and giant flatscreens clamoring for your attention at every turn.  Once you’ve prepared, know when to let go of the advice, stats, and high-tech gear, and just follow your gut.  Ultimately, that’s where winners are born.

Here I must say, we are reaching the summits. Not only because of the incredible high price, but on the formula itself. Valmont is known for their high technology made in Switzerland. Here with the L’Elixir des Glaciers Votre Visage, we have a day treatment with a Triple DNA. It reinforces the cellular renewal. This treatment has the most peculiar actives like 20% of Glacial Spring water, pure Plant extracts coming from the photo-alpine garden and finally RNA (a natural cellular activator). We should also note the vitamins A, B1, B2, C and D + the Rosa Moschata extract that balances the metabolism.
