Here is the new underwear collection of Calvin Klein, called X. It is quite unusual to see how strongly masculine sexy it is. Calvin Klein always played a kind of soft masculinity and today it is almost a David Beckham Armani AX underwear campaign…

Beat Takeshi Kitano @Fondation Cartier in Paris
Until September 12th, at Fondation Cartier in Paris, you can attend do a great exhibition developed by Beat Takeshi Kitano and called Gosse de Peintre.
Wikipedia says: Takeshi Kitano, born January 18, 1947, is a Japanese filmmaker, comedian, actor, film editor, presenter, screenwriter, author, poet, painter, and one-time video game designer who has received critical acclaim, both in his native Japan and abroad, for his highly idiosyncratic cinematic work—the famed Japanese film critic Nagaharu Yodogawa once dubbed him “the true successor” to influential filmmaker Akira Kurosawa. Several times rewarded at Venice and Berlin movie festival, his career of film maker is a brilliant one. What we know less is his talent for contemporary art.
Gosse de Peintre (Painter’s Kid) was developed by Kitano specially for Fondation Cartier. All different supports were used, from painting, to sculpture throught out video and sounds. Kitano also brought strange objects and machines that will entertain and surprise the visitors. For him it is a way to show a funny vision of contemporary art, bringing subjects like Art, japanese tradition to a child level. Either a bad joke or the quintessence of the artist… it will be up to you to say.
From March 11th until September 12th.
Fondation Cartier for Contemporary Art.

New Davidoff Fragrance 2010: Champion
Davidoff, the well known brand for cigars and one of the biggest successes of masculine perfumery: Cool Water man. There was a before Cool Water and an after Cool Water. Of course the “after period” seems less glorious as lots of launches had place but few survived. In the men’s range, Cool Water is still number one. They made a very beautiful launch with Davidoff Adventure and the famous hollywood actor: Ewan McGregor. Beautiful concept but weak fragrance.
Today, Davidoff is back with Champion. We are the champions my friend…. Here we get back to a more basic vision of men. The one who is strong, who accomplish performance. It is a pity that all the concept is translated into the physical challenge. Men are also looking for other kind of challenges, more spiritual perhaps… The bottle represents a dumbbell… the object itself is not so “clever”. Let’s see how this goes. The photographies are very masculine, quite aesthetic. It almost gave me aim to get back to sport… but no :-). It will be presented in 50 and 90 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching grooming products.

New Dior Fragrance 2010
It is official, Natalie Portman will be the new egerie for Christian Dior Fragrances. Is it a new fragrance? An existing one?
We do not know for now. What we know is that Dior has a beautiful list of hollywood stars in contract with the brand: Sharon Stone, Charlize Theron, Jude Law, Monica Bellucci… It must be nice to sit around at Dior’s corridors…
For Miss Portman, it is the first time she will be representing a beauty brand (a part from some crazy TV ads in Japan for Lux).
She is an incredible, promising actress, less than 30 yo. Natalie Portman born Natalie Hershlag in June 9, 1981, is an Israeli-American actress. Her first role came in the 1994 French action film The Professional. She achieved wider fame after playing Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. She had a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Harvard College while she was working on the Star Wars films.
More information to come.

Michael Kors’ Resort Collection: Organic cashmere
Michael Kors presented an outstandind 2011 Resort collection. He decided to use a maximum of organic fabrics like cotton, cashmere and even Hemp!
The fashion designer called his collection: “Park Avenue Granola”.
One of the astonishing pieces is a Hemp coat. Kors succeeded to keep the sexyness of a cool attitude and the environment respect.
Great path that he opened. We could call this a “desirable development”.

Louis Vuitton: New flagship store in London
British fashionistas, you have now a new temple :Louis Vuitton, 17-20 New Bond Street, London W1.
To celebrate this week its Jubileum, Louis Vuitton inaugurated a new flagship store in London. They called a new “Maison”.
Of course, all stars available were there : Gwyneth Paltrow, Kirsten Dunst, Alexa Chung, Catherine Deneuve, Clémence Poésy, Johnny Borrell, Elle Macpherson….
It is the biggest Vuitton store in Europe with its 1,520 m2 of total commercial surface. The last floor is a VIP lounge that only happy fews with invitation can go. There is also an exhibition area revealed with work from Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince, Gilbert & George, Basquiat or Michael Landy.
The Architect is Peter Marino. He is the fashion’s favourite architect: Louis Vuitton, Fendi,Chanel, Armani, Donna Karan, Ermenegildo Zegna and Dior have all used his talents. He also created an amazing yacht for Valentino and dared to design Giorgio Armani’s apartment.

The store, Vuitton’s most luxurious ever, will be entered by a bridge across what he calls a ‘virtual moat’ of LED screens. A 10m-high wall of Louis Vuitton trunks rises to the ceiling like a five-star left-luggage office. The costume jewellery department has been designed around a theme of interplanetary travel: the display cabinets have been based on the rings of Saturn, and it’s adorned with a Takashi Murakami sculpture of a Martian (source: thisislondon.co.uk).
So, if you pass by New Bond street and Cliffort street, just stop there and get a luxury experience.
