Reading Time: 4 minutes

Summer is here. This winter was a long and cold one and we are all wanting to look good this season. This summer is shaping up to be a hot one and there is nothing worse than being too hot to pull off a new look. The heat can be just as brutal as the cold, so it is important to dress appropriately. This doesn’t mean that you need to pull out an ugly old pair of shorts and a tank top to be comfy. There are plenty of luxurious fabrics and items out there that are perfect for this time of year that will keep you looking chic. Here are 4 luxurious items to wear for a chic look this summer.

1. Lightweight Fabrics

From light delicates to culottes, lightweight fabric can be an incredibly chic addition to your wardrobe. A light delicate, like a white, or nude bralette, or bandeau will not only keep you cooler but can look quite chic. Culottes are about as chic as chic gets at the moment. They are a fantastic alternative to hot, tight pants and because they do not cling to the skin they are a fantastic alternative to trousers on a hot day.

Another great item is a slightly cropped top to tuck into your high-waisted pants. We aren’t talking about a tight-fitting, revealing shirt, just something slightly shorter for effect and lightness. The classic crop top has had an update and now comes with ruffles, nice fabrics, and chic prints.

2. Invest in Timeless Pieces, Not Trendy Items

This is true for year-round, not just summer. If you live in an area where fast fashion is readily accessible to you, it is probably hard to do this. Your cupboard is probably filled with things you don’t wear anymore as well as “I’ll just buy this one shirt” purchases. Let’s not even get started on sales. Impulse buying feels good, but it isn’t. Spend your money on quality over quantity. Invest in fewer items for longer. After reading this, check out the Watch Trading Academy for ideas regarding luxury watches. Invest in a good quality coat for winter that will last you more than one season and try to find items that are not just fashionable now but will age well as time goes on. The little back dress will never get old.

3. A Hat and Slides

Hats are an important accessory to wear when heading outside on hot days. Skin cancer is no joke, which is why it is so important that you protect yourself from harmful sunshine. No one wants to rely only on sunscreen, especially since it is incredibly oily and rubs off. Hats that are made of a thicker material could mess up your hair and make your head way too hot. A lightweight hat, like a straw hat, promotes airflow and protects you from the sun, and offers some shade. Throw in a pair of sliders to really complete the look and finish the ultimate chic summer outfit.

4. Chambray Shorts

Denim shorts are the usual go-to when things start to warm up, but are often made of thick denim and can leave you feeling really hot. They are unfortunately not that breathable of an option but are not the end-all of shorts. A pair of shorts in chambray is a great alternative to denim as they are a much lighter material and give you a very similar look, so you don’t have to give it up entirely.

There you have it, a few must-have luxury items to complete a chic look. Good luck in looking your best this season!
