Hi,
this week I tried the new Sisley Cosmetic product for men: SISLEŸUM. As I explained in a previous post, Sisley is launching their first Global Revitalizer to fight skin aging process.
So I kindly got the product this week in order to try it. I would start by saying Sisley is an incredible brand. They manage to keep a great luxury, high end sophistication with the natural beauty of ingredients.
And Sisleÿum is definitely about capitalizing on Sisley Know-how into a great cosmetic product for men. The message is simple as striking. If you, Men, are looking for one single product, that you can use in the morning and in the evening or even as an Aftershave, here is what you need.
Let’s start with the most important thing, the FORMULA. Sisleÿum formula is a cream (there is also a Gel version) with an interesting Plant natural complex blended with key minerals. When Reading the INCI formula we can spot out the following main ingredients.
In terms of plants we can spot out the White Horehound, Sunflower extract, Shea Butter, Olive extract, Rose, Physalis, Pansy, Sea Alga, White Willow, Rosemary and Sage. This natural complex is a beautiful state of art in the mastery of essential oils and natural extracts. It is the perfect balanced between anti-oxydant, anti-aging and revitalizing the skin. Sisley added 4 minerals: Copper, Zinc, Manganese and Magnesium. Brilliant formula, rich and complete.
In terms of SCENT, it is very modern and “cosmetic” at the same time. Most of Men’s products always have these oldy men’s scent, very aromatic and green… here we have a sparkling bright and fresh spicy note, like Ginger, blended with some citrus notes and a hint of Rosemary and Sage. Very, elegant, masculine and gives you the “feeling good-smelling good” effect.
The FEELING in your skin is very pleasant. It softens your skin, unify the skin texture and helps you with the small rinkles. If you shave, and trust me this is sometimes a tricky point, you can use it as an Aftershave. Brillant.
In terms of PACKAGING, it is a beautiful product, that could make your partner purely jealous. It is very qualitative, masculine and also with clever features. the outer box reveals a beautiful white gold colour. When you open the box, you see the Armors of the Ornano
family, so classy. Then, you get a beautiful, handy flacon, very masculine with a very interesting feature : a cream level window on the side, so you know how much you still have in it. If I may bring a small critic, I would say the “mirror” effect on the flacon takes all fingerprints on it, special if you are using the cream. So, after a while it gets a little dirty. So perhaps a less shiny aspect would keep it from doing that. But you can definitely be proud to have in on a shelf in your bathroom or bedroom.
In terms of price. In deed it is a high price but frankly it deserves it. The formula and the packaging bring this product as one of the best male grooming product in the market today.
Would i buy it personally? Yes. What do you think? Check the dedicated website for more information: http://sisleyumformen.com

Hello again,
Thank you for your comments re: Dermo System. I sure hope new products from this range will come out soon. I agree. Dermo System is one of the best male skincare ranges on the market today. As I said above, I would say again that it is better geared for the normal-to-combo/oily range. DHDS Moisturising Regenerating Balm is good for those with dry skin and others during colder months, or as a night treatment.
Re: Sisleyum, some more thoughts below I had written about it previously.
In short, guys will not be disappointed with Sisleyum. I have tried many a product, and I can honestly say that Sisleyum will be one that will continue to be used. The product for normal skin reminds me of Sisley’s Hydra Global, whereas the one for dry skin has some overlapping ingredients (shea butter, olive oil/olivine) also found in Recipe For Men’s Moisturiser plus for dry skin. However, Sisleyum has a firming and also restructuring effect
not comparable to other products specifically geared towards men.
Josef
p.s. Optimally, it would pay for guys to purchase both versions of Sisleyum if they have normal/combo skin, alternating with the one for dry skin in colder months. If you could only purchase one of them, I would advise getting the one for dry skin because I noted more of a restructuring effect from it than that of the one for normal skin. It restructured similarly to Sisley’s Repairing Cream with Shea Butter which is a fantastic product I use at night form time to time. Dermo System’s Regenerarting Balm has some comparable qualities with Sisley’s Repairing Cream.
During the launch of Dermo System I remember the concept was beautiful, all design oriented. The formulas amazing. I thought it was a pity that on the point of sales, clients could not get the explanations. So unfortunately it did not get the success I was expecting (even though the price was quite high). I am happy that Dior is following up this as they definitely have one of the best male skincare ranges in the market today.
Hi,
Yes I remember your previous comment. Thanks for this details. I learned something here.
I saw on the bottom of the new men’s cologne packaging the following: “Eau d’Ikar is part of the Icare range”. So definitely they are opening the doors for a new men’s segment. When I asked the question to the Marketing manager, I could not really get an answer because Mme d’Ornano has plans for the future but who knows what….
Cheers and thank you for sharing.

a little more re: Dior Homme Dermo System
I have been using this range from Dior since it first came out in Europe since October 2006. All the products are excellent. There are currently 12 products in use (Sephora stocks 5 of them). The serum(though still available) has been replaced by the age control firming care. The eye serum has been replaced by the firming eye serum. New labeling for the soothing moisturizing (now after-shave) lotion. I have all four toiletry bags with the Dermo Sstem logo (available in France), the box set (both English and French version) with CD, first 4 products(lotion, emulsion, serum, eye serum), poster, and cardboard description of first six products {above plus cleanser and mask}. I even have the rare store display to hold my products. I am a true fan. Overall, the Dermo System range is ideal for combo/oily skin.
Hello again,
Below are my comments re: DHDS which I had written some time in the past.
It is sad that three of their products have been discontinued, namely, the shaving cream, the mask, and the under-eye circles corrector. All could still be purchased on some websites for the moment. I am curious to know why Dior have not added any new products to this range for quite some time. Any insight from LA on this would be greatly appreciated.
Throughout this past year, I have become a great fan of Sisley products and eagerly await the expansion of the Sisleyum range. I cannot wait to try the new cologne out this fall.
Best wishes,
Josef
I live in New York, but I am fortunate to have been using the Dior Homme Dermo System line since it was released in October 2006. I even have the rare boxed gift set which includes a Cd, mirror and cardboard descriptions of each product. For those who want to know, only four of the products were first released. The mask and the cleanser arrived later in January 2007.
The Shiseido Men line and the Polaar line (formerly Skinethics) also for men have wonderful products as well. In addition, 4voo men’s skincare also has some top quality items. Nickel also joins this list regarding quality.
In short, it usually pays to invest in a high end skincare line for optimal results.
Dior have just released two new products (on October 1st) to the Dior Homme Dermo System line. They are the following: (1) Dior Homme Dermo System Nourishing Regenerating Balm [jar–50ml, 65euros]
(2) Dior Homme Dermo System Protective Shaving Cream
[tube-125ml, 36euros].
These two products are, for the moment, available exclusively in France.
The Dior Homme Dermo System has a total of 12 products. In addition to the eight mentioned above, they also have the following:
DHDS Healthy Look Moisturizing Emulsion [50ml][This emulsion gives a healthy glow to the skin and moisturizes it as well.]
DHDS Under Eye Circles Corrector [1.8ml] (available in 2 shades–one for fair skin, the other for dark skin)
DHDS Antifatigue Firming Eye Serum [15ml] This product will be replacing the soon-to-be discontinued Eye Serum in a pen applicator. [As of present, this is currently the case in Europe; the pen applicator eye serum (1.8ml) is still being sold in the U.S.
DHDS Age Control Firming Care [50ml] This will eventually replace the Smoothing Revitalizing Serum.
In addition, there are a total of three toiletry bags/washbags/trousses
with the DIOR HOMME DERMO SYSTEM logo on the bag, all were available exclusively in France.
I am fortunate to have all three bags.
The men’s line by Giorgio Armani not sold in the US (but sold in Europe) called Giorgio Armani Skin Minerals For Men is quite good. Two new products were released making it a total of 8 now. I will elaborate on each if asked to do so.
The new Shiseido Men Facial Contour Refiner (50ml and available in Europe) is a hit with me as well.
Hi,
Please feel free to share your thoughts. We love Skincare!!!

Hello again,
Once the Sisleyum range expands, one will hope it will live up to the expectations of some other men’s ranges. If this is the right place to discuss my opinions of other lines/ranges, then I will be happy to do so. Otherwise, I will stick to comments re: Sisleyum.
Best regards,
Josef
If you are right, Sisleÿum could be THE skincare line for men. Fingers crossed.
Hello,
In short, guys will not be disappointed with Sisleyum. I have tried many a product, and I can honestly say that Sisleyum will be one that will continue to be used. I have also heard rumblings that other products in the Sisleyum range will be appearing towards the end of the year. I eagerly look forward to their arrival on the market.
Best wishes,
Josef
