One of the key elements of human culture is poetry. Poems have a deep connection with history, culture, struggles, and victories. Every poem narrates a different story. And every story evokes emotion. Learning how to read and write poems can greatly improve your writing skills. Unlike novels or storybooks, poems are shorter and quite challenging. Regardless of your education level, you have all it takes to get started with poetry. Writing poems doesn’t have to be a boring chore. By understanding all its elements, you’ll have an easy time composing your first one. Here are the benefits of poetry.
Purpose of poetry
It can be quite difficult to describe the purpose of poetry accurately. Why is poetry here with us? There are a few important things that you should keep in mind. Many cultures have invested a lot of time and energy in creating art. Most of the early pieces of evidence exist today in form of sculptures and paintings. Poetry was created because it is irresistible to human beings. Every poem was created for a specific reason. Poets write to record mythical or historical events. Others right to express their truths about certain subjects or ideas, paint a clear picture of a concept, and entertain readers.
Benefits of learning poetry
In this article, we are going to discuss the surprising poetry pros that you’ll enjoy by learning poetry:
1. Development learning
In most learning institutions, you’ll find learners whose verbal and writing skills are underdeveloped to some extent. Reading poetry essays examples can help in stringing different words together, learning about rhythm, and logical understanding of words and how they fit. Apart from that, it helps students to express themselves creatively – the one thing that is lacking in the modern world. In short, poetry is a tool for improving vocabulary and the learning process. There are a lot of essay poem example online. You don’t have to spend hours in the library looking for poetry essays examples. Using your phone, you can find an essay about poetry example and poem analysis essay examples.
2. Developing skills
Speaking, writing and understanding can all be nurtured and influenced by poetry. Learning about existing writing rules and practicing with poetry will make your writing beautiful. When you speak poetry loudly with its rhythm, beat, and rhyme, you will greatly improve your verbal communication. Understanding poetry will also give you the fortitude and drive to write excellent pieces.
3. It improves ideas
Why do people write poetry? Have you ever found yourself staring at a blank screen not knowing where to start? If yes, you should consider grabbing a poetry book and going through different excerpts. By doing this, you’ll start generating brilliant ideas that you can use to speed up your writing process. It will also help you change how you think about things. It’s one of the best ways to improve visual descriptions, and experiences and have positive emotions.
4. It is therapeutic
Poetry therapy involves the use of the written word to comprehend and communicate thoughts and emotions. Poems are usually short and emotional. Reading and writing poems regularly will help you get in touch with sentiments that you were not aware of until you wrote them down on paper. The common mental health issues treated by poetry therapy are anxiety and depression. You will understand the blocks and hindrances that are formed in your mind once you start reading poems. At times, it’s difficult to express oneself. And poetry is one of the most effective outlets.
5. It is therapy for the reader
Why are poems important? If you tend to have a hard time expressing yourself, reading a poem can have similar effects to writing it down. It will help you figure out what is weighing the heart and mind of the author. And open doors to emotions that you might have suppressed. Reading poems shines a light on the darkest areas of your heart and mind thus keeping you open to the world.
6. The importance of words
Unlike books, poems are usually short but with strategic sentences. Reading and writing poems makes it easy for you to understand the importance of every word and its placement. At times, a single word can change the entire meaning of the poem. As you write your poem, you’ll be forced to consider every piece and length of your verses. You’ll appreciate the words that you use as you handle delicate structures.
Conclusion
There are a lot of benefits of poetry for students. If you are feeling out of place or wondering why you are thinking in a certain way, you should consider reading poems. Apart from improving your reading and writing skills, poetry helps you gain mastery of yourself. You’ll learn how to streamline your thoughts and emotions to achieve your goals. You’ll get insights about yourself that you never knew existed. And make changes as early as possible. In college, life is not easy. If you are having problems, you should consider seeking help from the experts. Getting help is a sign of strength.

If the internet is considered a true innovation of the 20th century, social networks should be perceived as a real revolution. They represent almost limitless opportunities, and their invention has seen the arrival of a new generation of digital entrepreneurs: Discover Morgane Schaller, a talented digital Business Coach and a passionate Travel Blogger. Morgane Schaller has travelled the world for more than seven years, sharing her passion for travel, encounters and experiences. Less than two years ago, she started a career as a business coach, allowing her to share her expertise. It thus helps the future generation of digital entrepreneurs to get off to a good start. Despite her busy schedule, she agreed to play the game of our exclusive interview.
LuxuryActivist (LA): Dear Morgane, you are from the Swiss Jura, Rebeuvelier, I think. How would you explain your region to someone who does not know it? Morgane Schaller (MS): That’s right. I was born in Moutier (a town which is now part of the canton of Jura), originally from Rebeuvelier and all my family still lives in Jura. It is a region of “Bon vivants” where everyone knows each other, very nature and terroir oriented. There are magnificent places to discover, such as St-Ursanne, a medieval city “in its own way”, which notably inspired the designer of The Lord of the Rings (John Howe), the pastures of the Franches-Montagnes, the Abbey of Bellelay or the Rochers des Sommetres.
LA: What do you keep, in your heart, from your origins, and why is it interesting to be Swiss in today’s world? Do you think you have a particular look at the world around you? MS: I was fortunate to have grown up in contact with many different cultures. It should not be forgotten that in Switzerland, there are almost 40% of foreigners, which allows you to have a remarkably open outlook on the outside and adapt very quickly to cultural differences. At the age of 15, I was already confronted with bilingualism since I followed my higher education in Biel and half of the students in my class spoke two languages or even more. Living in Switzerland allows you to have an international experience without leaving the country, which is fascinating. It is an absolute wealth of which we are not sufficiently aware as Swiss but which takes on its whole meaning when we travel and discover the world.

LA: In 2017, you left the world of watchmaking and your comfort zone to devote yourself to writing, photography and travel stories. What happened? What reason brought you to such a change? MS: I guess I never really “fit into the mould”. Company codes have always bored me very quickly. I have known mobbing, toxic bosses, oversized egos, and sexism… the perfect cocktail to disgust you for life with an employee position. Anyway, I was too dreamy and too ambitious to settle for five weeks of vacation a year and a salary whose growth was limited to the goodwill of my superior.
In 2017 I was already very active on social networks; I earned some money as a content creator alongside my job – but not enough to live off of it. I had the project to quit my job, travel for six months and then… we would see. Except that nothing went as planned. The friend I was supposed to travel with dropped me at the last moment, and I found myself backed up against the wall. I went to the United States for a month and started as a freelancer in content creation and writing articles for my travel blog. In less than a year, I matched my employee salary while living the life I had always dreamed of.
For the little anecdote, it took me more than a year to be able to contribute to the AVS (the central pillar of retirement pensions in Switzerland) and be recognized as self-employed. The canton of Bern did not recognize content creation as a profession, while I had income and many customers. I finally had to go to their offices in Bern to explain how I made a living so that they would accept my contribution.
LA: We can see that the attraction for going abroad is not new. Your studies in Madrid, then your travels as an influencer-blogger, represent already many destinations. Where does this taste for travel come from? MS: I grew up in a family that loved culture, art and literature. Each year we discovered different countries with my parents and my two sisters. I have very good memories of our distant trips to Canada and Mexico. From the age of 14, my parents insisted that I go on a language trip every summer. I went several times to Germany, England and Spain. As a child and teenager, I was very shy and introverted. These experiences – alone abroad, on my own in an unknown place – were incredibly complicated to manage, especially in the first days. I had to do real work on myself to open up to others and get out of my comfort zone. But that’s what allowed me to meet wonderful people, to experience magical moments… and that’s the beauty of travel.
LA: What do you keep from all your travels? What is the best side of all your adventures? MS: Definitely meeting people. I had the chance to make unforgettable encounters, to be part of another person’s life for a few hours or a few days and to be able to talk about everything and nothing at the same time as if we were best friends in the world! The short side of travel allows you to appreciate every moment, realize how lucky you are to live those moments, and give meaning to your life.
Photo: Morgane Schaller
LA: What trip, in particular, do you keep an unforgettable memory of? And why? MS: There is this trip to the South of Tunisia, where I got there without my suitcase because it had remained in Italy, where I was still the previous day. So I spent a week in the Tunisian desert with nothing, no spare clothes, no accessories. Fortunately, my travel buddy (Valentine from the blog www.awwway.ch) helped me out by lending me a few items.
This trip to Reunion island became a fiasco because of the French “yellow vests”. Impossible to circulate on the island because all the roads were blocked. There was a curfew, and young people were burning cars. In short, the mess. The tourist office did not know what to do with us! We returned the following year, and the stay was unforgettable!
I have a remarkable memory of my trip to Slovenia because we were accompanied throughout the week by a fantastic guide, in love & passionate about his country. The weather was perfect, and the fall colours were magical. A great memory!
LA: If a brand would like to start a collaboration with influencers, what questions should it ask itself before undertaking such a process? Is influencer marketing possible for all brands? MS: Yes, influencer marketing is possible for all brands if this communication channel makes sense for the company. Before starting a collaboration, I advise companies to brainstorm on the type of profile they want to work with, to segment them according to their niche, the countries they mainly reach, and their creativity. I recommend having a strategic approach and a specific objective during the campaign.
Requesting a screenshot/video of the influencer’s statistics is imperative because the platforms that offer this service are not always in line with reality. Obviously, plan a budget because content creation is a real job!
Photo: Morgane Schaller
LA: The world of “influencers” has changed significantly over the past ten years. Influencer marketing has changed the rules quite a bit. How do you see these developments? MS: Influencer marketing has become a real job, and you can live 100% from this activity even if you are a micro-influencer, which was not the case five years ago. The evolution of this market has made it possible to put stricter rules and a more systematic approach in place, which generally improves conditions for companies (access to statistics, more transparency on the result) and for the content creator (remuneration, promotion of the profession). However, today the competition is more challenging, and the race for quick money through promotions of dubious articles gives a terrible image to the business of influence. This is deplorable and a pity for influencers offering a truly solid creative universe.
“MY GOAL IS TO help 500 WOMEN BY 2025 TO BE FINANCIALLY independent AND I CLEARLY INTEND TO ACHIEVE IT”.
Morgane Schaller, about her activity of Business Coach
LA: You have now taken a new step in your career by becoming a Business Coach. Why this change? And why now? MS: After seven years in the influence business, I wanted to give another dynamic to my career. I grew up, evolved, and collaborations on social networks no longer matched the image of the thirty-something I had become. Since the beginning of my business, I have provided a lot of strategic advice to those around my community and me, and I have noticed that there is still little concrete support in the French-speaking world.
My experience, my studies in management, and my strategic vision give me legitimacy in this field. The combination of all these elements allow me to support ambitious women entrepreneurs in developing their business today. It is an exercise that procures me a certain plenitude. My goal is to help 500 women by 2025 to be financially independent, and I clearly intend to achieve it.
LA: What are the people who sign up for your coaching programs looking for? What is different compared to other training in the field? MS: Above all, my clients are looking for structure and proven strategies. But sometimes they just need someone who can motivate them, someone who can make them aware of their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and guide them through the different stages of their business. When you embark on online entrepreneurship, you realize how much loneliness is a challenge in the development of your activity. Nobody is there to help us, support us, give us feedback, and we are constantly confronted with our own thoughts.
Being coached allows to broaden one’s horizons and stay focused on our goals. There is so much information available online today that it is very difficult to distinguish the truth from the false, what works for your type of business, what to discard… it’s a real adventure.
My coaching program is different since it is based on my experience. I teach the strategies, methods, processes that I myself have used in my business, and I know that it works otherwise I would not be where I am today.
Photo: Morgane Schaller
LA: Tell us something about yourself that not many people know and that deserves to be mentioned here. MS: While everything looks rosy and beautiful on social media, the world of content creation isn’t always kind to everyone, and it certainly wasn’t to me. I have known haters who have not hesitated to destroy my reputation publicly and my inner peace to feed their ego, I have trusted toxic managers who have robbed and threatened me, I have sometimes lost a lot of money by working with agencies and brands that were not always correct.
My advice for people who get into this business is to protect themselves as much as possible legally, set up contracts, have insurance if possible, and always listen to their instincts. In the jungle you can only trust yourself.
LA: What can we wish you for the future? MS: To continue to be free and fulfilled as I am now. A life without compromise and without regrets is possible, just take the first step 😊

Christmas is only in 5 weeks’ time, and we can start thinking about gifts and how to spice up the holiday season. Generally, there is one beverage that rhymes with the party: It is Champagne! Fine bubbles are the perfect way to cheer you up and forget about problems. When the smell of cinnamon, cardamom and vanilla strikes and the wooden chalets of the Christmas village create a romantic mood, it’s time to think about elegant gifts. Lovers of refined pleasures will undoubtedly find what they are looking for in the following selection. Here are my favourite Champagne limited editions for the best end-of-the-year celebrations.
Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2008: eccentricity meets tradition
Photo: Dom Pérignon
How to describe this limited edition by Dom Pérignon and Lady Gaga? We can probably say full of character, confident and daring. This description is valid for both Lady Gaga and Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2008. This limited edition, created in collaboration with the artist, combines these characteristics most beautifully. The eccentric design of the packaging – the bottle presses outwards like a balloon, as if to escape the shiny metallic pink packaging – reflects the soul of the wine, the pinot noir, as are the tasting notes of raspberry, violet, peony and white pepper—a guaranteed statement under the Christmas tree. https://www.domperignon.com
Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs 2010: like an elegant evening dress
Photo: Ruinart
The patience, foresight and imagination of the Cellar Master made the Chardonnay grapes of the 2010 vintage an exceptional champagne. In this cuvée, we sense the aromatic freshness of Chardonnay, which is the Ruinart signature. Allied to time, it is expressed here with even more depth, amplitude and complexity thanks to the printing under the cork. Thus, Ruinart puts back into use the gesture of disgorging and manual dressing. But its appearance is also convincing. The chalk box was designed like a block of chalk that also protects the Dom Ruinart bottle, remaining in relief and solid, made of recyclable wood fibre paper and produced in a sustainable way. The pencil case is 11 times lighter than the previous generation of Dom Ruinart cases, making it the ideal holiday gift. https://www.ruinart.com
Armand de Brignac: like a precious facetted stone.
Photo: Armand de Brignac
Handwork is at the heart of this special limited edition from Armand de Brignac. Each bottle is hand decorated with French pewter labels in gold and pink – matching the design of the bottle. The content of this exceptional champagne, made up of a trio of vintages, is also unique. Each blend brings together the unique characteristics of three different harvests while maintaining its strong ancestry year after year. Sustainability is another principle of the estate and its administrators, the Cattier family. Their land is HVE level 3 certified, the highest rating from the French government. https://armanddebrignac.com
Moët Impérial Spark of Light Limited Edition: the perfect party
Photo: Moët & Chandon
This gem limited to a few bottles should grace any gift table. Moët Impérial champagne, known and sought after for its fruity notes, seductive nuances and elegant maturity, has been an icon of the Maison Moët & Chandon for more than 150 years. For this Christmas, the bottle is dressed in a glamorous case whose designs recall the golden light effects of fireworks, thus more than deserving its name of Spark of Light. https://www.moet.com
Icons by Veuve Clicquot: Legends of party time
Photo: Veuve Clicquot
An ode to the sunny yellow colour, emblem of the Champagne House, as memorable as a day of radiant sunshine in Champagne region. For its 250th anniversary, Veuve Clicquot presents three iconic accessories in a new edition – ideal as a gift for design and champagne fans:
Clicquot Fridge x Smeg: The charming Veuve Clicquot Fridge edition (in collaboration with appliance manufacturer Smeg) is guaranteed to grab attention. The mini fridge, whose design is inspired by the 1950s, keeps the bottle of champagne at drinking temperature for two hours. It is made of recyclable sheet metal, and its lid is made of sugar cane waste.
Ice Jacket: This is tailor-made for the bottle of champagne and keeps it cool for up to an hour. The designer Debbie Petrou used for its manufacture an innovative high-tech process from the fashion industry called 3D knitting, which generates 30% less waste than traditional methods. The Ice Jacket can also be personalized, for example, with the recipient’s name or a Christmas message – creativity has no limits.
Clicquot Arrow: Choose a destination and discover the distance that separates it from the birthplace of the bottle of champagne in its cellar in Reims. The Clicquot Arrow is an arrow that hides inside a bottle of the legendary Veuve Clicquot Carte Jaune, which was first launched in 2016. The reissue is made of tin sheet metal and 30% recycled materials and will not only be a good gift for globetrotters under the Christmas tree but also an iconic decorative object. https://www.veuveclicquot.com
In conclusion, This holiday season will be very festive and after all the last unusual couple of years, we all expect more happiness and warm hearted moments. Happy holiday season with sparkles and bubbles!

Ask anyone who’s ever had to move out before and they’ll not shy away from sharing all the negative things about it. For the most part, there’s some truth to the negativity—moving houses can be a mentally taxing and stressful experience, after all, especially if you’re setting out on your own for the first time.
But don’t let these horror stories set an unwavering impression on you. With a little bit of planning and forethought, moving out can be a smooth and manageable challenge that you and your family can conquer. As moving day fast approaches, here are our top tips for moving to a new place with grace and elegance.
1) Purge the Unnecessary
If you’ve lived in your current home for decades, you’ve probably accumulated a lot of trinkets and knick-knacks over the years. Before you start boxing all these items up, consider getting rid of these items that don’t add value to your life.
While they may have some sentimental value to you now, items that you’ve outgrown will wound up being a burden to you in your new home. They could just end up cluttering your house and taking up precious storage space. Be ruthless when you start sorting through your belongings and figure out which items to keep, donate or sell to your local neighbourhood.

2) Hire a Removalist Company
Lugging a box of heavy items to unload to your truck can make you feel cool and strong at the start, but multiply that task by ten and you’ll undoubtedly be sick of it.
Instead of performing the back-breaking work by yourself, consider hiring professional movers on Muval or local removalist companies to handle the heavy lifting. Not only will it save you from time and potential injury, but these furniture removal companies also provide professional services that can allow you to focus on other move-related duties.
Relying on moving professionals minimises the risk of your belongings getting scratched, bumped or broken in transit. And let’s face it, wouldn’t it feel great to arrive at your new home, all stress-free, with a large moving truck trailing behind?
3) Plan with a Moving Checklist
Sifting, organising, and packing your belongings can be a time-consuming ordeal. If you want to smoothen out the process and look calm and collected while doing so, consider making a moving checklist that spans the entire duration of the move.
The moving checklist should include everything you need to facilitate the move, from booking a removalist to sorting out your bills and utilities. When you list down all the tasks that need to be done, you can more easily track your progress and feel less overwhelmed about everything you need to do.
You’ll also not forget any crucial tasks that need to be done, since they’ll all be documented in the checklist.
4) Label and Track Everything
There’s nothing worse than arriving at your new place and fumbling through your boxes in search of that one item you’re looking for. To keep everything organised and make unpacking easier, do your future self a favour by labelling the boxes and tracking the items that are inside.
Not only will this make unpacking much faster, but it’ll also keep everything systemised and easy to follow later on. For instance, you can label a box that contains all your kitchenware and another box that contains your kid’s clothing. You can also label boxes that have fragile equipment, which can signal removalists to know which boxes to handle with extra care.

5) Keep Your Important Documents Safe
When you’re in the midst of moving, it’s easy to lose track of important documents such as your passport, birth certificate, and medical records.
While you can put them in the truck, it’s a safer idea to keep these items close to you. The last thing you want is to misplace these important documents and have to go through a tedious and expensive process of replacing them.
So when moving, be sure to keep a small bag near you that has all of your essentials while you travel. This doesn’t only include your passports and IDs, but also first-day essentials such as clothing, hygiene items, medications, and electronics.
You should also make copies of your important documents and store them in a safe place to avoid getting into any sticky situations. This way, you’ll at least have a backup if the original document gets lost.
6) Greet Your New Neighbours
A new neighbourhood means a new set of people to get to know. If you want to set a good first impression, take the initiative to get to know your neighbours and build good relationships with them by stopping over to say hi.
Introducing yourself can be as easy as baking some pastries, knocking on your neighbour’s door, and giving them a new-neighbourly gift as a greeting of peace. You can even invite them over for dinner or to a party as a way to treat yourself after the stressful move.
Moving can be daunting, but with the right support system, you can make the experience less stressful and more memorable. As such, don’t miss out on the opportunity to build connections with your new neighbours and the local community. You’ll never know what can blossom from a simple hello until you try!

Let’s talk about the moving process parts including the Connecticut mover company that you need to know to avoid any stress. We will consider the following:
sorting issues;
transportation;
packing.
Read further to make these points clear.
Part 1: Sorting
Decide which of the things you definitely take with you. When the right one is selected, deal with the rest. What future awaits them? Leave this table for the next owners, give it to good hands, dispose of it, or maybe sell it through ads? Do not put off these decisions for later, so as not to bite your elbows when a lot of things fall on your shoulders. At the same time, only the many-armed Shiva will be able to pack, trade, and call a friend who promised to shelter a stool.
When things have passed the selection, it’s time to estimate how many materials will be needed to add up all your wealth. We will pack in boxes, we will also need ropes, stretch film, bubble polyethylene, and a lot of adhesive tape. This is the only way things will arrive in a new apartment safe and sound.
Divide by meaning everything that you will transport. If there is a lot of space, then sort by room: fragile to fragile, clothes to clothes, etc. At the same time, estimate how many visits you can withdraw all your belongings.
Part 2: Transportation Strategy
Remember that on weekdays you can easily get stuck in a traffic jam, and there your favorite ficus will already begin to wither. On weekends, your shuttle trips will be many times faster.
Packing things is difficult, but in addition to this, you have another important thing to do. Understand the layout of the new apartment. Where will the furniture go, will it fit through the doorways? This thoughtful moment will save your nerves.
It’s best to keep a marker handy when packing boxes. Packed, sealed, and immediately signed what is stored inside. It is also advisable to make a note if things are fragile. And then, forgetting how to throw them in a big way deep into the trunk.
On the cherished day, all things are collected, and in five minutes your former home has turned into a boxed kingdom. But it’s better not to relax. There is another important moment ahead – conscious loading. Everything small, and fragile, the household should be placed deeper, and last transfer large-sized furniture to the car. Now, when you arrive at a new place, the first thing you do is unload massive things. Lift and arrange them according to the plan, and already one less headache.
Part 3: A Conscious Approach to the Transportation of Things
Our moving advice would be incomplete without one important point. Sit down and think, evaluate the forces, and waste of time and money. And decide for yourself what will be more important: financial savings or a thrifty attitude towards your nerves?
In the age of modern technology, it is enough to press a couple of buttons for an attentive manager to call back and guide you through the services you need. And just questions with the relocation of customers, the company clicks like seeds.
Not just loaders, but real movers will participate in the transportation of things to a new address. These people take care of the entire housing issue: they will not only transfer and install but also prepare all your property for the move. Well, if there are too many things, then we recommend that some be deposited. It is much more convenient to disassemble boxes in new housing in batches.
Follow these simple instructions and realize that moving and packing can become even a pleasant time for you.

While winter is the least popular season for weddings, you have plenty of great winter-specific photo options to choose from. Whether you’re in the snowy northeast or a more mild southern winter, a cold weather wedding presents unique opportunities for creativity.
Why Have a Winter Wedding?
December to February account for only about 5% of weddings. If they’re so unpopular, would you even want to get married in the winter? While there are some logistical challenges, winter also has several major benefits.
Benefit 1: Ambiance
It’s not just about getting a photo of your gold wedding rings contrasting with the snow, though that is very cool. The cozy winter season is perfect for tying the knot. With so many cool seasonal decoration options and a backdrop of snow, winter is a magical time to get married.
Benefit 2: Off-Season Pricing and Availability
Since there aren’t very many winter weddings, you may be able to get a discount from some of your vendors. While it isn’t a guarantee, you should definitely ask about off-season pricing, even if their website doesn’t explicitly mention it.
You can still benefit from added availability even if you can’t get a discount. Unlike peak summer and fall months, you have significantly fewer couples competing for the same venues and vendors. While you still shouldn’t wait until the last minute, this can reduce the stress of booking the venue.
Benefit 3: Fewer Scheduling Conflicts
Sure, someone will have a scheduling conflict at any time of the year. However, if you plan your wedding for the off-season, you should be able to increase the percentage of your guest list who can attend. With most weddings happening during summer and fall, you should see more open calendars from your guests in the winter.
Winter Wedding Photo Ideas to Add to Your Wishlist
Stunning Backdrops
Whether you’re on a mountaintop, in front of a lodge or in a snow-covered field, there’s something magical about winter backdrops. Something that looks ordinary in the summertime looks otherworldly when the snow falls, so take advantage of that. Great backdrops are easy to combine with any of the other options on this list, too.
Snuggle Up
Whether it’s to show affection or keep warm in an outdoor photoshoot (likely both), there’s no photo choice more classic during sweater weather than this one.
Bouquet-Forward
The bridal bouquet is a good centerpiece for all wedding photoshoots. However, in the wintertime, you can make a statement with flowers and colors that you don’t have during the summer months. Plus, bright colors will really stand out against a snowy backdrop if you’re doing an outdoor photoshoot.
Photo: shutterstock.com/Valery Petrushkov
Flowers Aren’t Just for Bouquets
Flower crowns have been a big photoshoot phenomenon as of late, but they can be even more appealing in the winter for the same reasons winter bouquets are popular. Both a bouquet and flower crown may be a bit too much of a good thing, but feel free to try it out and see if you like it!
Embrace the Snowfall
Yes, it’s quite chilly to just stand outside in the snow, but hear us out. If you’re willing to be a little cold and wet temporarily, active snowfall adds so much depth and character to your wedding photos. All your summer-married friends will be jealous!
Take to the City Streets
All the great Christmas movies take place in the city anyway. Miracle on 34th Street, It’s a Wonderful Life, Die Hard. You get the idea. If Christmas lights are up when you’re taking your photos, that’s a built-in prop right there.
Strap on the Skis
Yes, you can use a snowboard instead. Whatever you choose, snow sports lovers can integrate their passion into their wedding photoshoots. Sure, it’s definitely a commitment to lug your board around while wearing a tuxedo, but the shots will be so cool that you’ll be glad you did.
Stand Among the Trees
There are few things more surreal than standing in a snowy forest. Capture that feeling in photo form by going through a walk in the woods. As an added bonus, you can get some great candids along the way!

Winter Accessories and Props
Sleds, fur coats, flannel scarves. Anything your imagination dreams up when you think of winter. You can use so many unique props and accessories for winter photoshoots that the sky’s the limit on this one.
You can also use winter-specific props to display your new titanium rings. Maybe nestle it in a tree branch or stage it somewhere in the snow. Talk to your photographer about what will look the best and take full advantage of it.

Building a Winter wardrobe can be tricky sometimes. You want to ensure you are warm and dry, but you also want to keep your sense of style and look ultra-sleek no matter what the weather throws at you.
Here are a few tips to remember if you want to change your wardrobe entirely or upgrade some of the pieces you have, like men’s footwear or a particular jacket or coat.
How Cold is it?
The first thing you need to consider is how cold it actually is. Do you live somewhere with snow, or does it just get chilly? You also have to decide how cold you get and whether or not you prefer to be bundled up or layered up.
Once you know how warm you want to be, then you can start looking at the items you may need. If your climate is still temperate, then a few long-sleeve shirts will do the trick; if it gets freezing, then you will need a thick coat, beanie, gloves, etc.
Rain or Snow?
As mentioned already, if your Winter brings rain or snow, it will determine what items you will need in your wardrobe. Rain is easier, as a couple of waterproof and lined rain jackets will do the trick.
If you get snow or bitterly cold weather, you will need a thick coat and items to layer with. Wool coats are always a great choice but look for something that suits you and your style and is also easy and comfortable to layer with.
Layers
Speaking of layers, it is essential that you have a few thin t-shirts or vests in your wardrobe. Not only will they keep you warm, but it is far easier to dress if all of your warm layers are underneath what you want to wear.
Layering is also great if you get too warm, as you can simply take off a layer or two and then put them back on again if the weather turns.
Materials
Some of the best materials to look for in Winter clothing are cotton, leather, and wool. Cotton is brilliant for any season as it is breathable but will still keep you warm and protect you from the elements.
Wool and leather aren’t as breathable, but they will insulate you better than anything else. Depending on how cold it gets, you may not need anything more than a t-shirt and wool coat to keep your upper body warm.
Coats
A coat can be a game-changer in the cold weather, and no matter your taste, there is one to suit every style. When choosing a coat, opt for something that can be zipped or buttoned closed; this will keep the warmth and your body heat in.
You also want to choose one that is a size or two too big, as this will allow you to comfortably wear a jersey or a few layers without feeling constricted.
Accessories
Your Winter wardrobe has to include a few essential accessories, namely, a beanie, scarf, and some gloves. Your head, neck, and extremities are the first things to feel the chill, and these items will provide the protection and warmth you need.
Footwear
With regard to footwear, you should have a pair of decent boots in your wardrobe. These can be the classic Chelsea boot, something more alternative like Dr. Martens, or a functional pair like Red Wings.
If it is raining or there is ice and snow outside, a boot will provide grip and also protect your ankles if you were to slip or trip. Not to mention, boots are easily one of the most stylish things a man can own.
Price
Depending on your budget, there are ways to find many incredible Winter items at a very affordable price. Sites like eBay and Etsy have a ton of coat options, for instance, that aren’t always second-hand but rather up for resale.
Form + Function
Stylish Winter clothing is always about finding the balance between form and function; you want to look good, but you also don’t want to be too cold or too hot. To find this balance, look for items that would work on their own if you had nothing else to wear.
Coats are a good example again; ask yourself if the coat you want will still keep you warm if you were just wearing a t-shirt underneath or if it will be far too thick and almost unusable unless there is a snowstorm outside.
Have a Few Focal Pieces
When building a wardrobe, the best way to keep your looks coherent and your wardrobe streamlined is to choose a handful of focus pieces and then make outfits around them. In this case, it can be a coat, a few jerseys, or a couple of pairs of pants.
Once you have your focal pieces, buy or choose other items that match or complement them. This will not only ensure you always have an outfit no matter how much laundry you have but will also stop you from buying unnecessary items you will only wear once or not at all.

Greece is among the top five countries in the world attracting luxury travelers who spend — on average — 20 times more than regular tourists, according to one report released by Virtuoso. With the country ranking fifth as a leading summer destination for the world’s richest travelers, there’s no question that Greece has an abundance of luxury accommodation, fine dining experiences, and magnificent things to do. From Mykonos to Santorini — and why you shouldn’t leave out Mani, here are three destinations worth adding to your travel to-do list.
High-quality experiences in Mykonos
When looking for luxury dining experiences, Mykonos has plenty of options. Nero Nero, for instance, offers a romantic dining experience that features a single-table restaurant over the sea. With a menu that encompasses a variety of options — from lobster to scallops, foie gras and even wagyu beef, the restaurant is none other than a luxurious experience. Condé Nast further mentions a Mykonian taverna, called Maereio, located in Chora. Owned by Isidoros and Dimitris Monoyios, the twin brothers’ restaurant serves a variety of dishes, including Asemina’s meatballs — based on their mother’s recipe, as well as local sausage with feta and vegetables and local cold cuts, highlighting a truly Mykonian sampling.
According to Forbes, there are a variety of luxurious accommodations to choose from when in Mykonos. The Belvedere Hotel, for instance, features rooms that include a private Waterfront Villa as well as a Six Senses Spa — not to mention the acclaimed chef, Nobu Masuhisa. Forbes goes on to mention the Bill & Coo Hotel, which offers an infinity pool as well as fine dining options and spectacular architecture, and the Myconian Utopia Hotel, which features a contemporary Greek design in addition to a seawater infinity pool.
The rich coast of Mani
A two-hour drive from Athens, Mani is known for its mountains that overlook the Mediterranean and offers a slow pace of life that’s away from the hustle and bustle of the city, making it the perfect vacation destination for those who simply want to get away from it all. Kat and Yianna Velos, the co-founders of Golden Groves, an Australian lifestyle brand with Greek roots, highlight their favorite parts of visiting the Mani peninsula. Not only is the location the perfect place to visit a variety of different beaches, but it’s ideal for trying out colorful bikinis, local seaside taverns, and the 100 Rizes Seaside Resort — which happens to be a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
For those who want a truly ‘off the beaten path’ experience with equally luxurious scenery, traveling into what is known as the “Deep Mani” can make for a truly memorable stay. One Guardian article notes that most people don’t get farther than the Diros caves, which are “extensive and spectacular” themselves, though the author, Andy Bostock, notes that “it is well worth carrying on down the coast,” in which you’ll be rewarded with fishing coves, and a countryside that’s home to Byzantine churches. It’s further noted that if you continue traveling south, you’ll find yourself in the village of Gerolimenas, which was once known for its export of quails back in the 1870s — the Guardian notes that the old warehouses have since been converted into the historic hotel known as the Kyramai.
Exploring the luxuries of Santorini
In addition to Mykonos, Santorini is likely one of the most well-known Greek destinations that come to mind, and there is no shortage of luxury there, either. According to the Luxury Lifestyle Magazine, there are a variety of ways that one can spend their time in Santorini while in the height of luxury — booking a sailing tour on a luxury yacht or catamaran is just one option. Not only will a sailing tour allow you to explore the island and sea within the same activity, but it can make for the perfect break from land, with endless opportunities for snorkeling, swimming, sunbathing, and more. While Luxury Lifestyle Magazine notes that chartering a yacht or catamaran will give you an exclusive experience, joining a boat tour is another option that will allow you to meet other people while on your travels, making it a great way to go if you’re a solo traveler looking to socialize (as it’s noted that most local sailing cruises can accommodate up to 50 to 60 people).
With Greece being ranked as one of the most popular destinations for luxury travelers, there’s no question as to why. From Santorini to Mykonos and the Mani peninsula, there’s no shortage of picturesque views and high quality experiences to be had.

You’re here because you’ve found the right person to spend a lifetime with. Congratulations! After a long search and probably a series of heartbreaks, you’ve finally found the one.
Now that you’re ready to drop the knee and put a ring on it any time, the pressure to make it flawless and special for your dearest can be paralyzing. The barrage of advice from those around you on how to do it right must weigh down on you. Here’s how to set up your own kind of perfect proposal in 5 steps, so you don’t need to get overwhelmed..
5 Best Ways to Plan an Amazing Wedding Proposal
First, Get the Ring!
Indeed, you don’t need to pop a diamond-studded fancy ring to ask someone to be with you forever. However, it’s undeniably the highlight of the moment. It’s the seal of your love and life-long commitment. It’s also the one everyone will look for once you share the joyous announcement that your partner said “Yes.”
If you two have been looking forward to tying the knot, they must’ve already hinted at what kind of ring they want. If not, conspire with their closest friends to do the sleuthing for you. You can also scour their jewelry box to know their personal style.
If none of these seem to be helpful, ask a trusted jeweler for recommendations. You can’t go wrong with choosing the timeless beauty of an elegant vintage engagement ring, especially if your partner is passionate about environmental advocacy.
If your partner isn’t into shiny jewelry, there are also stunning preowned engagement rings, so you can save on the ring and put your money on something that matters more for you both. Just don’t forget to get their exact size down.
Sort Out the Details
A proposal can be as simple as getting a ring, spilling the question, and hoping your partner will answer in your favor. If you already have a ring stashed away, you can go the spontaneous route. But it might not be as meaningful compared to a carefully planned proposal that considers your partner’s preferences. Here are some questions to help you get everything in order:
When’s the best time and place? Set the right location and schedule, especially if it’s a destination proposal or you need to book the venue beforehand.
To go public or not? Consider whether your partner would love to have onlookers, even family and friends, or if they prefer a more intimate setting. Public proposals are tricky and, unsurprisingly, among the reasons that proposals are rejected.
Who are involved? Identify who will be present and who will take part in preparing the secret and pulling off the surprise.
Will you outsource the planning? You can always get the help of an event planning agency to do the heavy lifting on your behalf.
Make It Personal and Meaningful
Whether it’s something grand or a sweet moment with just the two of you, the proposal should be unique to your relationship and history. Find a meaningful venue, like your favorite restaurant, the university where you met, or a memorable dating spot. You can also tap ideas from a movie, TV series, character, and other pop culture references that you both love and make it an integral part of the occasion. Freeze the Moment, Professionally

You can always have trusted friends around with their iPhones and capture the perfect shot. Still, nothing beats the quality and skill of a professional photographer. You’ll get amazing photos worth the fancy frames and the best spot on your gallery wall. You can hire a videographer to film everything and play the proposal footage on your wedding.
Jot Down a Speech
You might think you know what to say when you drop the knee and actually propose. But such a nerve-racking situation will render you speechless. You might fumble and stumble (and that’ll make an adorable video) and miss telling your special someone what you truly feel.
Prepare a script, even though you’ll probably improvise your way to the end of your speech. It should help you find the right words and organize your thoughts before you ask a once-in-a-lifetime question.
Cheers to Your Happily Ever After
You’re about to change the rest of your life forever in the best way. And while there’s no perfect way to propose, these insights should help you make it as unforgettable as you want it to be for the love of your life. Best of luck!

There are a million ways to let someone know how much you care about them. Especially your loved ones, with whom you spend and share significant memories. What better way to surprise and show affection to them, than on their birthday!
So, if this person you care about has his/her birthday around the corner, there are a few things you can do, to not only make them feel special but make their whole day memorable. While gifts such as watches, outfits, jewelry, accessories or even a birthday text make good gifts, they often lack a personal touch. It is also important to note that one doesn’t need to throw a grand, expensive party to show this person that you care. Simple meaningful gestures can actually do the trick, which in fact matters a lot to someone you’re close to.
Let us, therefore, take a look at a few simple, but fun ideas to make someone feel special on their birthday!
1. The hidden message
While this idea may have gotten a bit old, it is enough to surprise someone. This idea will work better if the birthday person loves a mystery. You can inflate a balloon and seal it with a clip, or just hold on to it. Using a marker, write down your message for this person, deflate the balloon, stash it in an envelope and send it on its way! When the birthday person blows the balloon, they’ll be in for a surprise. You can do this activity along with your friends and family, who can write their messages on different balloons. So, you can give the hidden balloon message idea a shot if you think it’ll work for your loved ones.
2. A video message
It’s all in the personal touch! One of the most trending and popular birthday gift ideas is to create a birthday video! For this purpose, all you need to do is have all the family members and friends of the birthday person record short videos for them and then compile these videos and present them at their birthday party!
This is also a great way of involving those who live far away but means a lot to this person. The video message idea is perfect if you want to keep it simple yet elegant and meaningful. With modern tech tools, now one can easily create birthday videos online. All you need to do is look for a reliable online birthday video makerso that you can compile all the short videos and make them a large piece of memory!
3. A mixed tape
Making a mixtape is still considered one of the most adorable gestures. The idea was widely popular in the 90s. But that doesn’t mean you can’t try this sweet gesture on your loved ones. For this purpose, you can create a birthday playlist for them, a playlist of their favorite songs, or songs that mean something to you. Besides, with the help of technology today, you can create the perfect blend of music and magic, giving it a personal effect. You can choose to go with any type of genre; corny, angsty, moody. As long as it is meaningful, it’ll get them going. Further, you can also add songs to which the birthday person taps their feet and get them on the dance floor at their birthday party.
4. A book
If the birthday person is an avid reader, the simplest and most meaningful thing you could do is gift them a book. This could be a book that they’ve been looking for a long time or a book that has meaning to it. To go above and beyond, you can write a thoughtful inscription inside the book to make it more expressive. Further, instead of sending the book by post, you can give it in person, communicating how genuinely you want to wish this person. Besides, in a world full of “Happy Birthday” text messages, an in-person wish means a lot!
5. The letter collection
This idea is meant for milestone birthdays and requires a bit of coordination. Reach out to the birthday person’s family, close friends or even old roommates, and have them write a short and memorable letter to the birthday person. They could write a message or any significant memory they share with them. You can then gather all these letters, and put them in a lovely box or a large envelope which the birthday person can cherish for years to come!
6. Make a donation
This is one of the most striking ideas for a birthday present! Make a small or large donation in the name of the birthday person and let them know about it through small notes. You can choose an NGO/NPO as per the birthday person’s interest. If they are animal lovers, you could donate accordingly to such an NGO.
Conclusion
While there is no ‘right’ birthday present, you must make sure that you put in the effort and personalize the present in order to make the birthday person feel special and wanted!
