In two month time, the 28th edition of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) will open its doors. Last year there was already big changes, especially with the open day to the public. In 2018, the luxury watch trade show will pursuit its development in welcoming new brands, some of them moving from Basel (the other fair) to Geneva. Here is what we know so far.

SIHH 2018, new brands

For this 28th edition, the SIHH will welcome 6 new prestigious brands bringing the total number of exhibitors to 35, with 18 Historic Maisons and 17 brands in the Carré des Horlogers. The new brands are:

  • Hermès
  • Armin Strom
  • DeWitt
  • Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud
  • F.P. Journe
  • Romain Gauthier

These new brands contribute to the ambition of SIHH to become the biggest luxury watch-making trade-show in the world. While its Swiss rival, Baselworld is struggling to find its new cruise speed, SIHH is deploying year after year thanks to technology, prestigious brands and the opening to the public.

SIHH 2018, new areas

Professionals, journalists, collectors and watch enthusiasts will travel from all four corners of the globe to be in Geneva from 15 to 19 January, 2018 for this standout event in Fine Watchmaking. Members of the public will once again have the opportunity to purchase tickets for Open Day on Friday 19 January. Be ready for innovation and surprises at SIHH 2018. By expanding the show, the new edition will host a new area to allow working and networking. A comfortable hyper-connected new area will be ready to welcome visitors from all over the world and will host as well a 100-seat auditorium full equipped for filming and live streaming to the different SIHH channels like the website, the official app and social networks. This would also be available for brands in case they wish to live stream their conferences.

SIHH-2018-edition

Last year, SIHH gathered more than 16’000 visitors from which there were 1’200 journalists and 2’500 public visitors. SIHH draws its vitality from Geneva, the home of watchmaking and a place rich in tradition that is heir to incomparable expertise. Each year, it transforms Calvin’s city into a hotbed of innovation while reconnecting it with centuries of history. Since 1991, SIHH has been the one event not to be missed in fine watchmaking. It highlights the most covetable creations and anticipates future developments.

SIHH is open to the public on Friday 19 January, 2018 between 11am and 6pm. Badges are issued at the desks at the main entrance, between 11am and 5:30pm, on presentation of the confirmation email and photo ID. Condition are really strict.

  • You can purchase up to 4 tickets
  • You will be asked to enter details for each person and upload a photo that will be printed on their badge
  • Tickets are nominative, non-transferable, and must be purchased in advance
  • Minimum age: 16 years
