As we know, Baselworld is one of the main events for the Swiss watch-making industry. Every year all the Brands have appointment with the world. And even if this event is supposed to be a Professional event with no activities to the public, it gathers more and more attention.
This year, we will discover a new Baselworld. Full new with a new main building, new stands and brands. It was a huge investment and apparently it is better than never.
Check here the official video about the new aspects:
It is a 430 million CHF project and the architects were Herzog & Meuron of Basel. The famous swiss architects are well known as they created the Tate Modern in London, the Allianz Arena in Munich, the Prada Store in Tokyo or the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. The project at Baselworld is about refine traditions of modernism like simplicity, minimalism and nobility of textures and materials… Timeless which is a great theme for a Timepiece world class show.
This year, the show is later than usual. It is from April 25th to May 2nd 2013. So hopefully everybody will be able to join. Last year’s show ended with very positive figures. 104,300 visitors (+1% vs 2011) and 3,320 journalists which is an increase of 9%.
It is interesting to see how the International press get more and more interested by Baselworld. It is a great event for Sales and it is getting bigger and bigger for PR. Check the exhibition official website for more news:
